We’re always excited to introduce new designers and brands to Godiva, especially when they’re hard to find! We are the sole stockist of Scottish designers Rowanjoy and Dead Sleekit, and are the only UK stockist of Canadian jewellery brand Moonlight For Violet. And as of this week, we’ve got another rare find to introduce to you: Erstwilder!
Hailing all the way from Melbourne, Australia, Erstwilder invites you into its vibrant world filled with quirky, colourful animal-inspired jewellery: Bebe the Bunny, Flynn the Fox and Paddy the Pig are just a few of the characters you’ll meet.
Each piece is part of a limited edition run (a maximum of 500 of each piece is produced), handmade in Australia from layers of hand-painted resin. The resin produces a lovely glossy finish, letting the vibrant colours really pop. The necklaces, brooches and earrings all come beautifully packaged in a round Erstwilder-branded gift box.
Australian artist Louisa Camille started Erstwilder in 2011 by sketching adorable little creatures: today the label works with a whole team of local designers who each bring their own individual styles to Erstwilder’s collections.
Erstwilder’s jewellery is inspired by the animal kingdom and all things rockabilly, pinup and retro. We think the quirky, kitsch pieces fit in wonderfully with the Godiva aesthetic!
One of our favourite parts about Erstwilder’s jewellery is how each pieces has a name and a personality. The jewellery packaging tells a wee story about the piece, incorporating mythology and pop culture. Betty Jo Sparrow prefers the wide open spaces, away from the regular gossip and familiar faces.
Here’s a selection of some of our favourite pieces… which one is yours?
