Introducing… Insane in the Rain

We’re very happy to announce that we are now proudly stocking Insane in the Rain, an environmentally conscious brand who produce ecological rainwear. And, we’re the first and only Scottish stockist!

Insane in the Rain not only make colourful, joyful raincoats that make the eyes go POP, all their jackets are made from recycled plastic bottles - 17-23 plastic bottles that would otherwise end up in our oceans.

So how exactly does it work?

Insane in the Rain’s jackets are produced using a recycled plastic called PRET, or recycled polyethylene terephthalate. PRET is a strong and durable material that is typically used to create single-use plastic bottles.

Taking these plastic bottles and single use plastics, Insane in the Rain turn the material into fabric for their raincoats. This helps to reduce the amount of plastic waste that would otherwise head straight into landfill or our oceans.

The brand also avoids using any additional or newly-sourced plastic in the production of their coats - from manufacturing, shipping to distribution. They work with a team of happy, caring, responsible manufacturing partners who all share the same vision of a plastic free planet!

Why is it so important?

So why does all this matter? By now most of us know the scary facts about the damaging effects of plastic on our planet.

When we throw plastic away it never disappears. That means that every bit of plastic ever made still exists today. Considering that since the 1950s around 8.3 billion tons of the stuff has been produced globally, there's a lot of plastic hanging around.

Plastic is responsible for killing over 100,000 marine mammals and over 1 million seabirds every single year. What's more, by 2050 it is forecast that there will be more plastic in our oceans than fish. And it isn't just harmful for animals - it gets into our food and is damaging to us too. In fact, the average person eats 70,000 microplastics each year.

So what can we do about it?

To start, we can avoid or cut down on using plastics - recycle, reuse, and redesign.

And that’s where Insane in the Rain comes in. Each and every one of their recycled rain jackets helps to reduce the amount of plastic that is produced and puts old plastic that would otherwise end of in our oceans to good use.

Scotland’s only stockist of Insane in the Rain Jackets

That’s why we’re super happy to be Scotland first and only stockist of Insane in the Rain recycled raincoats.

We're stocking a selection of raincoats full of pattern, print, colour and joy that we’re sure you’re going to love!

This looks like such an amazing product! Thank you for stocking them and sharing with us these super cool pieces. Where are they made? I live in Marbella, Spain. I would be very interested in purchasing a raincoat. Do you also make children’s sizes? Many thanks.
